Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, initial contact is made via phone or email. After discussing with the client what they are looking for, we will put together an initial proposal which includes a breakdown of cost and menu. We LOVE to get guest into our Kitchen Studio to show them what we can do for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Both our Executive Chef and our Executive Sous Chef are Johnson and Wales graduates. Their professional training, educational background, and career experience place CHEF360 Catering above the rest.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The menus listed in our catering packet are priced on a per person (NOT inclusive) basis. Of course, we can customize any menu or create a new menu based on a client's wishes and vision.
How did you get started in this business?
After 20 years with Hyatt, Executive Chef Peter Collins decided it was time to create his own brand. The tragic events of 9/11 changed the hotel industry, and Chef wanted to bring fun and laughter back to the industry he loves so much.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with wedding couples, corporate clients, and clients planning reunions, birthdays, graduations. We also work with a lot of non-profit organizations, catering their fundraisers and galas.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, we had a call from a client in a panic. Her caterer knew her budget, yet sent a proposal that was about $5,000 over the given budget. She did not know what to do, as her wedding was in 3 months. Our Sales Manager, Kimberly Adams, told her we would handle it and make it everything she wanted. The wedding was at a private residence, so we visited the site multiple times, worked with her on her menu, and worked with her family members. The bride ended up hiring Kimberly as her wedding coordinator based on the way Kimberly handled everything and took the stress away from the bride. We came in under her budget, served amazing food, and the bride's day was perfect. While we are in the business to make a profit, we do not believe in gouging clients or quoting low-ball pricing to get them in the door and then jack the prices up. We believe in gaining our clients' trust, honesty in everything we do, and integrity all the time.
