Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like speaking with potential clients and listening to their ideas and goals for the project, and trying to add value where I can. I want to get to know them a little bit and give them a chance to get to know me also, and to answer any questions they might have and see where it goes from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a volunteer photographer at my local church. I've photographed the following types of events in that capacity: baptisms, child dedications, banquets, memorials, volunteer projects, volunteer teams, & worship through music.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started by taking photos of family vacations on my iPhone, but I really got going once I got a DSLR camera for a Father's Day gift. That led me to becoming a volunteer photographer for my church, and my love for and knowledge of photography has only grown since then.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Models, people celebrating birthdays, a couple who wanted a small wedding ceremony at home, child dedications, as well as families wanting family portraits.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was hired to photograph a child dedication ceremony at a family's home.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Take a look at examples of the photographer's work to see if their style matches what you're looking for.
Ask the photographer what is and is not included in their price.
How soon will the images be delivered, and in what format?
Don't be afraid to ask questions.
