    Frequently asked questions

Be it a new or repeat client, the process is always the same and it's rather simple.. "communicate, communicate-COMMUNICATE". Our 1st and most important objective is to "determine (your) goals & needs" to ensure we understand them and we can meet them. Our 2nd objective is to determine your preferred method(s) of communication be it in person, by phone, email or text OR a combination of each. Once we have an idea of what you seek to accomplish and how you like/prefer to discuss things, THE FUN CAN BEGIN!!

Time, Experiences and other professionals have been my teachers.  I got involved with photography in the mid 80's shooting color, B/W and slide film as a hobbyist. That evolved into building my own darkroom where I processed & printed color, B/W and slides as a hobbyist and for pay. I moved into the digital realm in the early 2000s where I've attended a host of workshops, webinars, and training. I have a large library of books and video's covering a host of how-to processes and techniques.
All those tools aid in developing and improving the technical elements but the creative side comes by experience, Godly giftings and a passion for my craft.  a review of my work will aid any client in determining if I am a fit for their needs. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmEGGEUf
I believe in the "KISS" principle, Keep It Sensible & Simple and that is most evident when it comes to pricing for our services.  I have a flat rate for everything I do, be it a wedding; headshot session; private or corporate gathering or event, etc. With very few exceptions that fee covers the cost to capture (photography) your event and includes a set of digital display (non-print-quality) images. Prints, print quality files, photo books and all other display options such as glass, metal, wood, and installations are provided separately.
ADDITIONALLY, we offer a no-fee to cover (photography) an event as well as an "Over-Time" option that covers the time before & after the event. These service options were developed for clients with cost restrictions.

I began as a hobbyist and got addicted and that addiction developed (quickly) into a passion.

It has been my "sincere" privilege and honor to serve a host of clients whose names you would not know however there are names that many will know. They include Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Nashville TN, The largest (by membership) church in the state;  YWCA (Wine, Women & Shoes) annual fundraising event; YMCA; American Cancer Society; Internal Revenue Service; The Sister's Network, Nashville and a host of other religious as well as non-profit organizations.

There are tooo many!  Being in the right place at the right time to capture the passion resident in a moment provides great satisfaction and the image in this link is an example of that. It was captured during the African portion of a cross-cultural wedding where the ladies began to dance

ONE: Ask a lot of questions to determine experience in the area you have a need; how long have then been in the industry; are they a professional or hobbyist getting started; how many cameras do they have, who edits their images; what kind of lighting do they use, etc.
TWO: Review their work that's in line with the type of images you seek to capture
THREE: What is their fee; what type of warranty do they offer
FOUR: What restrictions are in place such as print files, display files,e, etc.

Knowing (some idea) of what you seek to accomplish with your images is essential. It is not necessary that you have a detailed plan because an experienced photographer will be able to add to your needs. Coming to the table with an idea is essential, i.e. my kid is graduating from High School and we want images of them to remember this transition period. That provides me with plenty of information and once I speak with the SR, the fun can begin!
