Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I need to get to know my customers. For photography to be truly special, a photographer must understand the subject, and what they wish to convey. This means we need to talk and really discuss the client's vision for the project, even if it is as simple as a family shoot.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a working professional photographer for over 7 years, though I was published at 15.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
These prices DO NOT include prints. I have found that it is more efficient and less expensive for my clients to have them done separately through a service. I do not book multiple clients in a day, as I believe each one deserves my complete attention, and I want the best results without a time crunch.
Family portraits: $400 (+$50 for every individual portrait after 8 people)
Headshots: $300 (Digital proofs only)
Engagement: $500
Bridals: $500
Wedding Ceremony+Reception: $500
Wedding package: $1500 (includes all above, and 4 large (16x20) prints of your choice)
How did you get started in this business?
I my first time shooting was with my grandmother at age 9, who taught me everything I know. The rest is history. I guess. I don't actually know why people say that.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with people from all walks of life, families, small businesses, large corporations, international corporations, and so much. My customers are not looking for cheap photos, they are seeking an artist to bring a vision to life.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I understand the temptation to hire an inexpensive photo or let your aunt or uncle with the camera do your photography for you. Its economical, and maybe to the average person the differences are not immediately apperent, but to you, the bride, the father whp wishes to cherish is family memories forever, or to the business owner looking to present himself to the world in the best possible way, those differences matter immensely.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask yourself what you want to get out of not just the photographs, but the experience itself.
How do I want these photos to look? Are large prints an important factors? How much do I want to participate in this process?
