How did you get started in this business?
My love for the salon industry came on when I was a teenager helping my aunt in the salon. I would watch her cut, style, relax and color clients one by one. Sometimes she would even allow me to help her mix up relaxers and I fell in love with each mix.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked mostly with Corporate America in the reigns of CEO's. Entrepreneurs and everyday Mom's are a joy to work with as well because they bring a joy with them that you can only experience in the salon.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am extremely proud of DFW Teen Fashion Week. I just became involved with this organization which helps benefit Teen Suicide Prevention. I am so excited to be able to style these teenagers for a great cause.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be sure to ask about the stylist time and if he or she has the ability to arrive to the destination on time. Can he or she handle more than one client. Have a clear understanding about pricing and set the expectations upfront from both the customer and pro.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be sure of what you want as a customer, will your lifestyle fit the new look that you are asking for. Can you maintain the routine of going into the salon to keep your look up. Is this pro good for you and are you good for that pro.
