Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know a clients vision is first and formost. Understanding what a they are looking for and being sure we can produce it for them is key. Secondly, we make sure our booking is solid. We check the location, create a plan and put a price to the work they want performed. Thirdly, we gather all the equipment, load the truck, and get to our destination early. We take a down payment to secure the booking (1/3), We collect another 1/3 upon the completion of the film capture, and collect the final 1/3 upon delivery of the completed film. We usually upload the final cut to our Drop Box account, however, there are many ways for us to deliver the final footage to you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have over 22 years of experience with the education of the NY accademy of film and film marketing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our prices vary from the ammount of work being perfomed. So there really isn't a set price. We also have an installment plan upon credit acceptance.
How did you get started in this business?
I have been inerested in photography and filmography since I was able to understand how to work a camera. Over the years, I made it into my hobby and it grew into an obession! So I started to go to school to improve my photography/filmography skills and started working as a professional in the field in 2020. Since then, the company has grown to incorporate four very talented filmographers and continues to grow today.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with several different venues. Some want a simple little photo shoot and others want the full package of service combinations. So there really isn't a specific type of customer that we work with.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice to anyone who is looking to hire a professional filmographer would be "watch out for scamers" there are alot of people out there that claim to be proffessionals and walk in with an iphone or snap cam. These devices, although some take very nice photo's or video's, are not professional grade. If the person using it was a true professional, they would see the value and difference in a cell phone capture, and a professional camera capture. Not to mention, there is a lot more to a great photo than point and shoot. You need to be aware of the subjects surroundings, background clutter, and lighting. So be sure to pick the right company for the job. Cheaper is not always better.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers often think that ok, the picture or video has been taken, now where is my final product! Most people do not understand that with 8 hours of film, the ratio to editing that video is approximatly 16 hours. To create our full package (video capture and edit, photography capture and edit, rendering, and delivery) on an 8 hour film could take up to 40 hours depending on what the customer wants. So keep in mind that what you see does not mean that there is not behind the sceens work to be done.
