I love the freedom and creativity that photography provides me. In nearly every way I have the ability to be creative, from creating the image on-site to post production editing and image maipulation. In my busines model I focus on the client first; my number one priorty is making them happy. That said, I love working with people in a variety of industries that prefer to collaborate rather than demand. Above all, I most enjoy the freedom photography provides to sustain my quality of life, which includes spending time with my family, my choclate lab Buddy, camping, kayaking, and exploring the world around me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Understanding the needs of the customer is most important. From there, we discuss logistics and execution to make the photoshoot happen seemlessly. I prefer to work through email to have written copy of agreements and correspondence; generally I discuss with the client the nature of the request and associated questions, and I take the time to answer any questions the prospective client may have. Once an agreement is reached the next step is planning. At this stage I coordinate with the hiring contact the specifics of the shoot and align with expectations, followed by the final step which is executing the shoot day-of. I always prefer to arrive early to my photoshoots to familarize myself with the facility or location, allow plenty of time to set-up equipment and test lighting, then begin the assignment completely prepared and ready to go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 7 years of commercial photography experience photographing every subject from executive portraits and corporate events (the two subject areas I specialize in), to commercial and residential real-estate. To date I have photographed over 4,000 homes and countless commercial properties. I have experience working with national and international corporations, including: PepsiCo, AT&T, Frito-Lay, Samsung, Regions Bank and US Foods.
Additionally I have experience photogrpahing for a number of editorials, non-profits and corporate events, including: The Washington Times, USA Today, ABC News, Getty Images, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Tyler Morning Telegraph. In addition to the aforementioned I hold a B.A. in Photojournalism and a B.A. in Political Science.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes I do. I do not make this public. Please contact me by phone or email for pricing.
How did you get started in this business?
I never intended to become a photographer. It was a hobby that turned into a passion that turned into a career, and I couldn't be happier. I make images for a living that I standby and that I am very proud of. It was a fortunate accident that I became a professional photographer, but I also believe everything happens for a reason, and I count my blessings everyday.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with many different customers and clients and decision makers at all levels. I have photographed presidents and CEO's of major corporations, non-profit and educational organizations, corporate and commercial events and/or products as well as private individuals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was invited to create images at the White House in Washington D.C. on behalf of Getty Images, where I created photography of the incumbent President, images of The Hill, joint sessions of Congress, the Supreme Court, as well as protestors, demonstrations, marches, speeches, tragedies and accomplishments.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
While technical adeptness is important (if not critical), a good working relationship with a likeable, flexible photographer is critical. In this industry egos can run high and tempermant can be a mixed bag. Each person is different, but my focus is on my client, accomplishing their ask and exceeding their expectations. Thoughtful and responsive communication is critical, but most of all the photographer should be likeable, knowledgeable, and capable of executing the task at hand.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Logistics like location and timing is important, but as with any new client relationship I help to establish reasonable expectations and walk through the logistics with the client to ensure we're both on the same page. By presenting potential opportunities and potential for risk, I work closely with the client to propose in advance any potential I see to make the shoot more proficient, thus, minimizing questions from the client that I can proactively answer.
