As a division of The Lebanese Taverna Food Group, we specialize in Classic Lebanese and Mediterranean Cuisines. Our chefs are experts at blending the fresh feel and taste of the Mediterranean Region with cuisines from around the globe. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
From the initial inquiry, we take the time to learn about the client and their vision, asking for preferences in menu items, style of service, dietary needs and /or restrictions, etc. We can then build and customize a full proposal to best reflect what we hope surpasses the client's expectation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Between the owners, managers and chefs, we have a collective band of experiences that encompasses over 200 years. Personally, I am a trained chef (CIA Graduate) and sommelier with a strong passion for entertainment factor as it relatess to Off-Premise Catering.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No, because every event is different. Every event is priced based on menu selections, venue requirements, labor needs, etc. Every proposal breaks down the individual costs as *Food, *Beverages, *Labor, *Equipment Rentals, *Linen Rentals, *Delivery and *Applicable Taxes.
How did you get started in this business?
I have loved the exploration of food from a very early age. As my mother was not very creative in the kitchen (please do not tell her that), I learned to explore the world through food. As an adult, I love sharing this passion with others.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with all types of clients and eventsWfrom Middle Eastern to International and both corporate and social. We both embrace & celebrate diversity in cultures and people.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had the opportunity to provide an intimate dinner for two, celebrating their 50th wedding aniversary. There is no event more special than someone celebrating a life long accomplishment....whether it is your beginning or the 50th celebration, we admire everyones' celebrations in life.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you are able to connect with the individual. Planning any kind of event can be stressful, but it doesnt need to be. You want to build a relationship of trust and know that your planner/caterer cares about your goals and interests.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
There are hundreds of questions that arise throughout the planning process. Here are the most important to create a thorough proposal that encompasses most of what you want to know:
* Where is the venue location
* How many guests are expected
* What type of event is this (i.e. wedding, mitzvah, social or corporate)
* What time of day (meal period)
* What type of service you are interested in (i.e buffet, plated, cocktail reception, etc)
* Does the venue provide tables and chairs
* What type of menu items would you like to serve
* Do you have a budget in mind?
