My name is Chris Moore. I have known Charles Ash for 20 years. I am a pioneer in the sport of kiteboarding. I developed training programs for kiteboarding instructors and had a vision to make instructional videos for others to learn the sport. Having admired Charles work with windsurfing videos, we set out together to produce the instructional video, “The Way To Fly”. This was a huge undertaking taking hundreds of hours. I’ve know Charles for more than 17 years and I have had the pleasure to work with him for most of my photo and video shoots world wide. I’m Tommy Farmer, owner of Carolina Cast Pro LLC. I am also multi-time National Distance Casting Champion and have held all of the United States Distance casting records. In 2017 I decided to develop an instructional DVD to help others learn the art of long distance surf casting.

I had a vision in my head but no clue how to make it come to life. Living in “Wilmywood” (Wilmington NC) where many feature films have been made I thought I would be able to find someone local to help me with the project. I interviewed several local independent video film makers but just did not click with any of them. A mutual friend introduced me to Charles Ash. After a couple of phone conversations it was clear to me that Charles was the man for my project. Charles had the ability to bring my vision to life. He listened to me, made many suggestions and when the time came to start shooting he was very professional. He kept me on point and over the course of 4 days we were able to put together all of the raw footage. Charles invited me to come to his studio to work on the editing which I found fascinating. It gave me an appreciation as to how the “magic” happens. The end result was a great product that captured what I wanted to share and pass on to future fishermen and casters. I was most impressed with his professional approach and how he was able to help me feel comfortable in front of the camera. I am completely satisfied with the job that Charles did for me and the quality of the final product. We may collaborate on more projects in the future.
