About
I am a photographer that wants to connect with the client & create a special moment. I believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful and their best, because everyone is a “super model.”
Sometimes the best shot is found by the most unique perspective, if only you’re willing to look at things from different angles.
I prefer “in the moment” photography to “staged” because those will be the pictures that mean more to the clients when they look back on them.
I have experience in runway (high fashion), portraits, newborn, headshots, aerial, business portraits, pet photography and more. I have been working as a photographer since 2006. I actually started at Sears Photography where I learned I had a passion for portraits and wanted to really learn the art of photography. So, I’ve studied it from there. I’ve done film and modeling as well. I’ve been in front of & behind the camera (in many facets in that time).
If you have a project or need a photographer, please hit me up and see what we can come up with. I live on Whidbey Island but willing to travel if expenses are covered.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk with them & see exactly what they’re looking for in their pictures. That way I have a set plan day of taking pictures so it runs smoothly (set up time, place, length of shoot, wardrobe, etc).
I like to set up wardrobe with the family because I find that clients are happier with their pictures if they’re happy with their wardrobe. Since I have experience coordinating wardrobe with photography, I use this to make my clients have a higher satisfaction and less stress the day of shooting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained in the Sears photography studios. Plus, I have worked various jobs in the entertainment industries (film and modeling). I worked 2007-2012 in the film industry. 2011-2012 I did modeling 2014-2017 I worked various photography

How did you get started in this business?
In 2004, I took a trip to Alaska where I took some amazing landscapes. My first time I ever thought of becoming a photographer. I started in 2006 with Sears photography & realized I had a passion for photography. When the bug fully hit, I decided to branch on my own & learn as much as I could on my own from as many sources as I could.
What types of customers have you worked with?
High fashion models, actors, pilots with aerial photography, realtors, moms of newborns, high school seniors, prom dates, pets, boudoir models, headshot models and an array of other clients.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Being able to be a photographer and be part of someone’s special homecoming is a special moment. I was able to be a part of a soldier and his wife’s special moment. He came home from deployment and she hadn’t seen him in months. It’s so special to be a part of such an occasion.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Remember that you’re not just paying for the hour of the shoot but the countless prep time & however long the editing time is going to be. Also remember to ask questions. Make sure you’re comfortable with your photographer. Not all photographers are the same. Just because you own a fancy camera, doesn’t make you a photographer!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about what shots they want & exactly what they’re looking to achieve from the shoot. What goals they’re looking for & how the photographer can meet said goal. Are they the type of family that likes to be posed or are they an “in the moment” type of family?”
If they have kids, do they naturally smile a lot or not? Because kids who naturally DO NOT SMILE will not suddenly learn to smile in pictures just because mommy or daddy asks them to. If it’s not a natural tendency, then sadly it’s likely not doing to suddenly happen for a picture. I see this all the time & parents do not understand... you cannot force happiness to shine through.. fake or otherwise... you know your child & should know up front whether that smile is likely to happen before you ever think to book but you can find some cute pictures not smiling & working with “grumpy” pictures. Work with the child’s natural tendency & do what comes naturally & you’d be surprised what comes out. Some of the cutest pictures are the natural ones where they’re not smiling but giving other facial expressions. If that’s WHO your kid is... it’s who they are!
