Hi
My name is Pieter Roelofse. I am a Freelance Semi-Pro Photographer looking to make photography my full-time career. I go by the name Pete Roe, because it’s easier for clients to pronounce and it’s got a nice ring to it.
I am originally from South Africa, the Rainbow Nation at the Southern Tip of Africa. Africa has a special place in my heart. It is a truly magical place and the people there are extraordinary. Despite all its problems, South Africa is still my home, even though I made the US my permanent place of residence.
Photography has always been in my blood. As a young tike, I was always our family’s picture taker and that stayed with me all these years. There is just something magical about stopping time and capturing a moment on camera, the look on someone’s face, the beauty of people, the awesomeness of a truly happy smile and that glint in someone’s eyes.
More recently I have started to do maternity/newborn shoots as well as some portraits. I am looking to get into fashion, glamour, boudoir and establish a good professional relationship with models in the Puget Sound area of WA state.
I graduated in 1998 from the New York Institute of Photography. I've been published twice in Practical Photography Magazine.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is very important to give the customer what they want, so asking the customer what they need from the photoshoot is the #1 priority.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Diploma from the New York Institute of Photography in commercial photography.
I also have a degree in Commercial Photography from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
