What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I am currently brand new to working in the portrait world. This being said, I am very fluid on my pricing. At minimum, I will be asking for $100 plus $2/mile that I have to drive. My starting point is Ballinger Lake. You can use this info to calculate my round trip which will give you the total cost of a photo session.
How did you get started in this business?
I have been shooting nature for a number of years and have naturally come to wanting to work with people.
