I am a huge advocate of customer service. When I pay for a service or product, I expect a friendly, cooperative and personable individual that is willing to take that extra step...or two to make your experience worth while. I love creating images that evoke a feeling and/or memory for my clients. Each photo I take, I look at as a captured "moment in time". I love capturing candid shots (taking a photo when someone isn't expecting it). Often times, these turn out to be incredible images.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with all potential clients first for coffee as an ice-breaker. That way, when we book the shoot, there are no surprises and we've already established a rapport. Let's face it, not many people like getting there photos taken...at least in a photo shoot. By having a rapport, it just makes the shoot a little easier and more relaxed.
I love to joke with people. Laughter is always the best medicine. If we're having fun then that's when I know I'm doing a big part of my job...even if it goes over the time limit. I'm not a clock watcher. I want my clients to get their money's worth.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have no formal photography degree. I've watched enough videos, been mentored by professional photographers with way more experience and just applied what I know in the field...practice, practice, practice!!!

How did you get started in this business?
Retirement from the IT industry got boring real quick. I would wonder what would I like to do next. Not long afterward, the Lord laid photography on my heart. I immediately knew that was the right thing since it had always been a passion of mine.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Shop around! Compare package pricing. Also, make sure you are able to see samples of a photographers work...either through an online gallery or their business website.
My preferred way of finding any kind of vendor is through word of mouth. That's always a good place to start.
I think it's important that there is a good rapport between client and photographer. An element of trust is absolutely required.
