First, we are not a chain or attached to a large corporation of any kind. We serve Madison and the surrounding Dane County area because this is where we live. Second, we’re passionate about our food and our service. This may seem cliche, but we mean it! Everyone knows that passion tastes delicious! Third, we’re a Madison Originals - MadisonOriginals.com - independent restaurant. Fourth, we spare no expense when it comes to purchasing quality food & and many local ingredients. Because we know it really tastes better! Last but not least, we truly treasure the Madison community in a special way. The Madison community has supported our business, which has in return supported our family and the countless employees that we’ve been able to invest in over the years. Several of those employees were UW Madison students who have since went on to either start their own businesses or are making a difference in other cities and states. So, Yola’s Cafe doesn’t just have roots in Madison, we’re also very grateful to have been able to invest in future generations and communities, and we like to think that shows in our work.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before We Get Started
Before you pick up your phone or submit a catering request, it’s helpful to have some info on hand to discuss with us.
Event Date – Let us know if you have a specific date in mind or have some flexibility so we can check our schedule.
Event Size – In the beginning stage, we don’t need a specific head count, but it is super helpful to know if you’re planning to an event for 25 people or 250 people.
Event Location – If you already know where your event is going to be held, great. If you’re still shopping around for venues, be sure to look for ones that allow off-site catering.

Menu Planning
Now for the fun part – menu planning! We’ll discuss what kind of menu you’re looking for and what services are needed for your event. This is where our expertise really comes in handy – we will help you determine what quantities you need to satisfy your guests and how to maximize your budget so your final catering bill stays within your budget.
Putting It Down On Paper
Once your menu is finalized and we’ve figured out which services you’ll need from us, we’ll put together a final quote that outlines everything we agreed to. You’ll confirm we’re in agreement and your quote will be converted to an invoice and you'll have the ability to put down the applicable deposit.
What Happens Next?
What comes next depends on how far out your event is. We always make sure to check in to confirm last-minute details, such as where to park, what time we’ll arrive for setup or dropoff, and any other final questions.
Event Day
On the day of your event, we’ll be ready to go as planned. You can count on us to show up on time with everything needed to make your meal a great success! Depending on the services you selected, we’ll either drop off your food as agreed for self-service or stick around to provide full service and cleanup at the end of the meal.
