What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually walk them through my process, share a little about myself and the heart behind why I take photos.
I want them to feel as comfortable as possible. I want it to feel like home, like family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a journalism major at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I get a lot of my training through "Click Community." It is an online mentorship program.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My prices will often depend on what kind of sessions I will be involved in.
I charge $150-$175 for an hour shooting a single family.
For large families, I charge $200-$350.
How did you get started in this business?
My journey started as a writer, journalist and I began surrounding myself with other photographer in my community and grew from there.
My family owns a wedding business/venue, so I have gotten a lot of opportunity through that as well.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with families, children, I have done product photography, live concerts, some wedding receptions and I have done some commerical photopgraphy for local businesses.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event that I have been fond of is some friends of mine have a band and they play local shows quite often. I usually go and support them and shoot for fun.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When looking for a photographer, friendliness is the upmost important. doing photos with someone you have not met can be awkward and you want to feel comfortable and confident when doing them.
My goal is to always make my clients feel comfortable and confident in themselves. I also like to make it fun!
