What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We usually start by phone with new clients to make sure we can and will provide just the right photography services they are looking for. We will find out what type of portrait session, studio or on location, their budget, and who when and where. We also are happy to have clients visit our studio in person by appointment so we can meet face to face to discuss their needs and budget.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Allen Patrou has years of professional training and development along with numerous photography awards at the Arizona state level and national level from Professional Photographers of America. He is a Master of Photogrphy and a Certified Professional Photographer.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing depends normally on two factors. One being what type of session do you need and the second, what type of output are  you looking for? We produce photo prints, canvas, metal prints, photo books, albums, hybrid music videos with still and video clips, Live Portraits that come alive with your smart phone  and Talking Business Cards plus much more. We do not provide raw images on disc. We do produce commercial head shots in both high resolution (edited) and low res. for web use.

How did you get started in this business?

Allen has been using first film cameras and later digital cameras since the early 70's. He is highly proficient at Photoshop editing and art work. Everything that comes out of the studio is edited to some degree, unless you are viewing unedited proofs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Almost any type of people and pet photography along with covering events up to several hours. Our main business is portrait photography of children, highschool seniors, family groups and pets. We have also done book and magazine covers and lots of modeling portfolio work.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We have been working with and for the Herberger Theater in downtown Phoenix for about 7 years. We sponsor the AYAC, Arizona Young Artists Contest along with other events during the year.

What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?

Look at the style of the work of the photographer and that's what you will get! Are they a professional trained photographer with all of the equipment, studio, and experience you need? Make sure you are getting the actual person who's work you are paying for. Don't fall for a GWC! A Guy With a Camera-there are lots of people who purchase a pro-sumer camera and spend $20 on business cards and sell you unedited digital files on a CD. Not a good plan!!!

What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?

Do your research so you have some idea of the right questions to ask. Think about your budget and remember, you get what you pay for. If you want a professional you need to pay for one.
