About
Hi, I'm Rich, aka Radical Snaps!
I am a Los Angeles-based, agency approved, published photographer and I'm passionate about bringing your vision to life through my work.
I was a very enthusiastic amateur photographer for years during my time in big corporate marketing positions, including 15 years at a top Hollywood movie studio, but about 5 years ago I set up my own photography business.
My marketing skills now spillover into photography projects for clients because it helps to stay focused on achieving their specific goals and understand how the images are being used to engage a given audience. I believe these proven marketing skills help set me apart from other photographers in the LA area.
Although the best photography is born out of good technique and creativity, I value quality tools of the trade. My equipment includes a Canon 60D camera body, pro Canon lenses: F2.8 24-70mm, F2.8 70-200mm, F1.8 80mm, Canon 430EX speedlite, various reflectors, filters, and tripods.
I love working in Los Angeles and I'm very familiar with the city and surrounds. As a result of shooting here for years I know loads of great locations for just any every concept.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's important to connect and make sure we're both on the same page with regard to your project. This includes the following:
What are your objectives?
When is the shoot? ie. day/time/duration
Who or what is part of the shoot? eg. products, models, hair stylist/makeup artist, wardrobe, lighting, props/staging
Place? ie. outdoor, studio?
Image delivery? ie. what format, due date, retouching?
It's often very useful for a client to share any inspirational images that encapsulate the vision or mood for a given project. That can be the case even for simple headshots since there's such a variety of styles to choose from.
Don't worry, I'm here to help with all of this and we can either talk it through over the phone or via email.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied photography at school and since then have taken countless classes, devoured books/videos, attended conferences/events, and generally done whatever I can to continually raise my knowledge and skills.
After 15 years immersed in the entertainment industry working for one of the world's biggest movie studies, launching movies like Star Wars and TV series like 24, Glee, and The Simpsons, I decided to pursue my huge passion for photography. I have lived in Los Angeles 20 years and been a professional photographer for the last 5, working on amazing gigs around this awesome city like product launches, fashion shoots, red carpet events, and helping talented locals achieve their dreams with eye-catching images.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard pricing rate card for projects but can also charge by the hour, whichever is preferred by clients. I provide discounts for referrals and also ongoing work.
As you can imagine, the scope of photography projects can vary a lot, eg. duration, complexity, however, the rate card is a good starting point. My rates are very competitive but if you do come across keener pricing for comparable quality work then I would be grateful for the opportunity to match and win your business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All sorts!!
I have been lucky enough to work on countless amazing gigs around this awesome city like product launches, fashion shoots, red carpet events, and helping talented locals achieve their dreams with eye-catching images. These could be business owners, executives, staff, families, couples, kids, pets, actors, dancers... you name it!
