Batista Moon Studio has been serving the Monterey Peninsula and the Central Coast for over 40 years. The husband wife team of Fernando Batista and Barbara Moon Batista create a friendly and accommodating team that listens closely to the clients needs and produces images that meet their needs.
We enjoy the challenge of each assignement which put our skills and knowledge of photography to work. We meet with our clients to ascertain their needs and work with their budget to achieve the best possible results. We have been in business on the Central Coast for 42 years with experience in Real Estate, Architecture, Agriculture, Food, Wine & Beverage and business photography.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A client usually calls or emails with a project that needs to be done with a deadline but usually the budget has not been decided. We talk to the potential cleint about their wish list and try to determine a list of exact images that needs to be done. If a budget has been established we then make recommendations on how we can match the list of images wanted to the budget, often suggesting some time saving or more efficient ways to meet their goals. We then send an estimate via email to the client for discussion. If adjustments need to be made etc. The assignement is then approved and scheduled and we proceed to let the client know what to bring to the shoot and we keep in touch until the client until the photo shoot for support and to answer any quesitons they may have. During the photoshoot we take every step tomake sure the client knows what we are doing and show them each shot on the computer before moving to the next shot on the list. Post production take about a week and can be speeded up if necessary. The final files are delivered via internet in the format required. We keep in touch with the client afterwards to make sure they can open and view the files and if any photoshop needs to be done additionally.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We both have a BA in Photography and teach photography, Lightroom and Photoshop locally at an adult school. We have recevied awards over the years for the Monterey Jazz Festival posters, Kodak Award, Sam Seagull Award from local advertising club.

We estimate each project on the needs of the customer. We find that one size fits all often doesn't work for the commercial client.
How did you get started in this business?
We both started in high school with a class and mentor in photography. It was our major in college and we started a small photography studio during college which grew into a full time commercial business over the years.
