About
As a portrait photographer, I like to take photos that are authentic to the person photographed. I prefer natural light and genuine expressions.
I like to meet a person, get to know their personality, then do my best to express that in a photo.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk with a client and get to know what style they prefer and what their expectations are to see if we are a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an A.A. degree in art with a concentration on photography - my background in film photography directly influences the way I photograph things digitally (although I still do try to make time to shoot film) and the way I like to compose and light my subjects.
How did you get started in this business?
After doing a lot of film photography in college, I worked at a portrait studio for a couple of years about a decade ago. I was asked by a friend-of-a-friend to photograph her wedding in Southern California in 2008 and have been getting steady referrals to all of my clients thus far since then.
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Look at photography that you like on instagram, pinterest, in a book, at an art gallery etc. to get to know what styles you do and don't like - it might make it easier to find a local photographer that fits what you're looking for.
