About
I first discovered photography 9 years ago, back then I was strictly a wildlife photographer. After shooting my first event I became obsessed with photographing people. While photographing people is not as challenging as shooting a flying bird or a running deer it can present its own difficulties.
Since then I have continued to study the technicalities of my gear, lighting, color, techniques, etc. I learn from some of my favorite photographers and put my own spin on things to develop my own style. I have been photographing people for years and while every shoot is different one thing remains the same, the look on my clients face when they see their images and the feeling I get when I see the smile I have brought them.
The greatest part about what I do is seeing the joy in people when the see their images. I love getting to know the client and the type of person he/she/they are and reflecting that personality in photographs. Creating a beautiful image is easy but taking the time to get to know the client and show who they are in an image takes the photo's from beautiful to stunning. As a photographer, when you capture who the client is, there is no greater feeling than seeing the look on their face.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I find out what the client is hoping to achieve with the session via an introductory phone call. From there I work closely with the client to taylor their session to meet their needs and expectations. The clients comfort is my primary concern so I try and develope an connection that helps ease and relax the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self educated photographer. I inittially took up photography to photograph wildlife for my own enjoyment. This method proved to be extremely helpful. When photographing wildlife you need to be both quick and patient. I learned quite quickly what to do and what not to do. I learned what settings work best for a specific look or feel. I learned the difference between a picture and a photograph.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My "standard" pricing varies depending on the type of shoot, number of people, location, and extras the client may desire.
How did you get started in this business?
Roughly 9 years ago I first fell in love with photography shooting wildlife with a Nikon D3000 and an 18-250mm kit lens. It was a decent setup and gave me a chance to quickly learn how to use a more advanced camera. Shooting wildlife taught me patience as a photographer, it taught me how to use lighting to my advantage, how to look at things from different points of view, and how every moment can be missed in a blink of an eye. For me, shooting wildlife was photography boot camp.
It wasn't until I was hired the photograph a birthday party that I discovered the joy of photographing people.
