Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Trying to find out what is best for them! Then we create a menu and options based upon budget, likes/dislikes, logistics, design and reason for having an event.
We love what we do and it shows!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified Exec Chef. Star Chef Award Winner
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No. We used to have standard menus/pricing but folks liked to mix and match and it made it impossible to have a set price! : )
How did you get started in this business?
Love of food and design!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Our clients range from a drop off for your next door neighbor, to Elon Musk, to Fergie, the Mayors of LA and Pasadena, to Cedars Sinai, to Audi, to Hilary Clinton, to Chamber Inauguration Dinners, to the LA Clippers (2,800 guests)
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A wedding that had a difficult budget but we were able to arrange the presentation to reflect the couple so that everyone there, 'got it' and knew it was all about them. The bride and groom were ecstatic! It turned out beautiful and we again made life long friends!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure the caterer is clear about everything because some will change prices/menu/rentals on you. If you compare quotes make sure they are 'apples to apples' as many caterers include different things in the invoice. BUT make sure the caterer has INSURANCE!!! (We have 3 million $$) Plus, make sure you feel that they understand you and want the best for YOU.... it's not about some Celebrity Chef ego or such nonsense, it's aout YOU!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What do they really want? What is important to THEM? Do they have a grasp of the budget and timeline? How about the logistics of the place they are having the event? (This can break the bank if you are not careful) Are they being honest with themselves on their goal/vision for the event?
Be nice. People respond better to you when you are kind.
