Gavlick Photography, LLC
About
I like to work with a client to reach the best possible images, I prefer to share images during the shoot and get instant feedback to make sure the people I work get the images they want. Criticism is never a bad thing, I understand that it can be a difficult thing to explain the needs. Back and forth between photographer/client is a positive thing and should never be avoided.
I have been interested in Photography since high school and have followed that passion since. My education is based in Fine art and Analgue fim processes and have grown with the digital revolution. I am a true nerd and like to utilize technology to push the envelope of possibilities with photography. My background in Fine Art allowed me to push into many different genres of photography. I like to think the only limits to my photography is the time in a day and how far a client is willing to punch a concept.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Listen! If I'm not talking a whole lot during our first interaction its because I want to hear your wants and needs. I also like to ask what you like, perhaps you have a couple examples and ideas already saved.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Fine Art Photography and am constantly staying up to date and learning new aspects of photography. I have worked for photography agencies and learned from those processes and fellow photographers. I also am constantly on the look for ways to practice, photography isn't just my job it is also my hobby.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, usually I charge $125/ hour, notice how I said usually. If we need to reach a different arrangement lets do it. Sometimes the hourly model doesn't always work out, thats ok. We can figure out what does work for you.
How did you get started in this business?
I started working as a freelance photographer when I graduated College with a degree in Art and had to figure out how to pay some bills. Since then I have done all types of photography, from events, weddings, and product to high output catalogue photos.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with just about anyone you can think of, I have photographed high end beauty products, happy brides, stressed grooms, homeowners, and even a few people just finishing a full vintage car restoration.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just had the opportunity to work with a new meadery, photographing a selection of the current bottle selection. The company is one individual that works two jobs to get the business going and is now becoming one of the largest mead producers in the Denver metro area.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Please do not be afraid to ask questions, I know its a cliche but there are no dumb questions. i think its also great to bring examples to the table, it can be just a few images that you like or it can be an entire collection of photogs, images, concepts. It gives a pro a place to start, it especially helps to avoid starting on different concepts.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about where you want to start, basic concepts, colors to use or avoid. Are there messages you want to push/avoid.
Think about your timeline, no wrong answers but perhaps we push things around. If its an outdoor shoot lets check the weather, maybe we shoot a day earlier than we are thinking to avoid a snowstorm.
