About
Krystina Booker's passion for the beauty industry started at the tender age of 15 when she had to learn make-up application due to her studying in the performing arts at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. While at Ellington, at the age of 16, Krystina attended
Barbizon Modeling School where her love for make up grew even more.
Krystina continued to follow her passion for makeup while simultaneously continuing her performing arts career throughout college and well after.
When Krystina returned home from Central State University of Wilberforce, OH with her degree in vocal music, she held several job titles simultaneously for the next 9 years trying to make ends meet, but it just wasn't enough. She attended a few celebrity makeup artists masterclasses such as Renny Vasquez and Makeup by Jess. The makeup industry seemed to be the best trade alternative to her music career but she was afraid to fully immerse herself and move forward.
Fast forward to spring 2019, Krystina decided to take a leap of faith and hit the ground running! She created and decided to own her own beauty business after studying the importance of financial stability through a personal financial success company named MyEcon. This was the pivotal point where Krystina decided to make a change and establish generational wealth for her family by becoming an owner. She utilized the business strategies of MyEcon and developed Wink and Blush Beauty.
Krystina enrolled in a semi permanent eyelash course in January, started permanent makeup classes and esthetician courses at Lillique Training Institute of Fairfax, VA in March. In April, she filled out the paperwork to legalize Wink and Blush Beauty as an LLC. She also studied with master permanent brow artist Brow Daddy and became certified in ombre brows, nano brows and nano hair strokes and soft shading in May. Krystina is scheduled to graduate esthetician school in Fall 2019.
Wink and Blush Beauty is mainly a home-based studio at the moment. Krystina has plans of expanding in the near future.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that is passionate about their craft. Yes, make sure that they have adequate credentials but don't totally count out a newbie just because of "years under their belt." Some new artists create some of the best work artistically and are truly talented at what they do. Give them a chance.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Always do your research first on you main concerns before talking to a pro. When you know what results you are personally trying to achieve, you can tell if a "professional" knows what they are talking about. It will put your mind at ease when trying to find the best professional for your needs.
