    Frequently asked questions

Have a conversation about their needs. What use do they intend to make of the photos. When it's all over what serves their needs best.

Like many independent photographers of my generation I am self taught. Ansel Adams' books and the Kodak Corporation were my teachers.

Many years of trial and error in the studio, in darkrooms, on locations, with digital cameras, and Photoshop.

Also, many years of dealing with photo labs when not making prints myself.

Day rates depend on logistics. Typicall $500-1,000 per full day.

I took a very inclusive class and was smitten. It was all I needed to begin my own quest.

    About every kind imaginable.

The most recent exhibition of my portraits of famous Americans in an art gallery.

Get all of the details squared away before you start. It's not always easy to redirect during a photo session. There is no magic in the process. Serendipity happens only sometimes.

When it's all over will the photos suit your needs. Will you and your company/family/party look confident and enjoying themselves?

The final product will be the result of what kind of collaboration the subject and photographer had. It takes both of us to be succesful.
