What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We can help plan the entire event, or simply work the day of. We are willing to travel to appointments as needed, or host clients for meetings.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Prior to Joyce's Event and Party Planning, I owned a Hallmark Store in Hyde Park, Illinois. That store specialized in balloons, decor and invitations for all occassions. So when transitioning to event planning, we brought our invitation knowledge with us.

How did you get started in this business?
Again, the Hallmark store (balloons, decor and invitations for all occassions) lead to a seamless transition into the my planning business, which started in 2000.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All sorts! Corporate, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Weddings, Home events, 100th Birthday Parties and more. We've helped big and small events throughout the years.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The events we are most fond of are often personal and unique because of the small touches the clients request. We've seen individually crafted centerpieces from an artistic bride. We've had an interactive 'art piece' as a sign-in board, which later was hung in the bride and groom's new home. It's the little things that make an event unique.
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
When you hire a great team of vendors, your event will go smoothly. Communication and specificity are needed to create a 'perfect' evening. With our guidance, we can help find any vendor you may need for your special day.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
Knowing your budget is always the key to starting on the right foot.
Gathering your guests addresses can be one of the hardest parts of the process. Start sooner than later with calling and emailing your friends and relatives.
