Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After our phone consultation for senior and family sessions, where we'll talk about styling your photos (what to wear, location, what to expect at your shoot), it'll be time to shoot! We'll meet at Molly Beale Photography studion in Smithville, MO, to start with a few studio shots. From there, we'll head to the location we've decided on. After a super fun time, that's when I'll really get to work, editing the photos. In a couple of weeks after your session we'll get together so you can see the photos, samples of the quality professionally printedproducts I offer, and get your order together. Your products will be in after a couple of weeks, and I'll contact you once I get your order all packaged up and ready to go!
If you're booking for corporate headshots or branding, we will have a phone consultation about what to wear and the location of your shoot. We will then have your session (lasts about 30 minutes or so), and you can choose your shots that day, following your session. I will get them edited, sized for web and print sharing, and will send you a link to download them from my website within a week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a proud Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of America! I am continually pushing myself creatively, always trying to learn the latest techniques in the photography industry. I am on the board of the Missouri chapter of the PPA, and am a member of the Professional Photographers of the Ozarks and Professional Photographers of Greater Kansas City. Keeping up on education and bringing the newest tetchniques to my clients is so important to me, so you can have unique photos that tell YOUR story!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Every client is different, and has different needs. I have a 3-tier session fee for seniors and families. Products range inn price, depending on what you're looking for. My average senior or family client spends approximately $750. I will walk you through the entire process, making it as painless as possible!
How did you get started in this business?
I asked for my first "real camera, that has lenses that can be changed out" at Christmas of 2010. When I received it, it became practically affixed to the end of my arm! I took my first class at our local continuing education center, and I was hooked! I started taking photos of my son's football and baseball games, and practiced photographing on my family.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with seniors, families, corporate professioinals, party-goers, brides & grooms and their bridal parties, clients with landscape photography needs, and real estate professionals, helping them with their MLS photos.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently photographed a high school senior at Loose Park in Kansas City, MO. It was a beautiful evening, she was a beautiful subject, and we made some beautiful photos, that she and her family can cherish for many years to come.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you look at a LOT of their photos, and that you like their style. Professional photos can range a LOT in price, but don't go off price alone - a PROFESSIONAL photographer won't be the cheapest, but should be able to give you images and products that will stand the test of time.
