Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We offer a free consultation to determine your needs, then plan and schedule accordingly. Our 5 Step process is simple; consult, shoot, edit, review and deliver!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Prior to graduating as 1999 Class President, I spent time learning the process of darkroom photography from an amazing instructor at a high school of fine and performing arts. Upon attending college, I continued to learn film and digital photography under 2 new instructors. I had the privilege of seeing the major transition take place in the market!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We offer flat fees for services and products. Quality over quantity is our approach so fair hourly rates and packages are customized for client convenience. To see our rates visit www.imagesbyvalentino.com or text/call 913-735-5381.
How did you get started in this business?
Growing up my family experienced the tragedy of a devastating home fire. Most everything was replaced, except keepsakes and family photo albums that showed our history and heritage. Since that day my curiosity became an affinity for creative and journalistic imaging.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with personal and business clients;
Personal: Engagements, Weddings, Quinceneras, Reunions
Business: AMC Theatre, high school proms, non-profit organizations, beauty industrialists, authors, health care, catering companies, and more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Taking my princess to the Father-Daughter Dance was an experience where I took limited pics with phone in order to live in the moment. We partied like our lives depended on it!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Tips for hiring a professional photographer;
1. Check their portfolio!
2. Ask how/when files are delivered. Is the release included or an additonal cost?
3. Are files ready for self printing (if it is offered)?
4. Ask about how they handle lighting - it's everything.
5. If you get incomplete answers - book us!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Things to prepare for your shoot;
1. Plan/coordinate your wardrobe in advance.
2. Prepare makeup and hair.
3. Consider bringing assistance in the event of wardrobe changes or longer shoots!
