Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get a little hair & skin background on new customers to know what type of styles, looks, skin conditions, medical conditions or anything that would prevent them from being able to receive a service and if they would prefer an alternative we can come to a backup together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of experience in weave & natural hair care experience, 12 years in makeup & lashes. I've worked as a registered medical assistant & phlebotomists before deciding to go for my passion of freedom within the beauty industry. I attended the Paul Mitchell school Lexington to become more knowledge background and obtain my credits to be able to proudly say I'm a licensed cosmetologist on top of all I do. I am a licensed lash technician and I also teach classes on lash extensions as well as weave extensions

How did you get started in this business?
My family has been in the beauty industry with owning 2 family salons since before I was born and I was the only tender headed kid in the family (lol) so I started doing my own hair at 10'yesrs old started with weave braids, glue caps & more. The more I did them the better I perfected my craft and began doing my friends and family as a hobby. Once I graduated high school and was in college my grandma passed away so I headed to the medical field while doing hair on the side. Makeup I have been into since a little girl when my grandma got Avon magazines in the mail they cake with sample lipsticks (lol) I used to pencil in my brows all of middle school and I just started buying more and more makeup once I learned what they were and used for over the years as a teen and I would get teased at first lol but the more I got better the more my friends and family would ask could I do their makeup and that's what was really my start.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Adults & children with disabilities
men suffering from hair loss or just wanted a haircut or hair braided
Men, Women & children looking for luxury quality sevices
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was invited to be a raw artist beauty stylist at the showcase in Louisville on Feb 5th & I was behind excited I did 3 different sets of looks from editorial, to costume to a tribute to Kobe Bryant & the other 8 customs of the helicopter crash; I've just won an award for best hair extensionsist 2022
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who's precise on time even goes a little extra for those just in case purposes. Someone who has a knowledge of skin & hair types willing to travel & isn't afraid to step out of their comfort zone and be able and comfortable or working with every race & nationality they encounter.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Expertise in weave extensions, skin care, how to take care of their skin and/or hair after service and especially how often do they clean their tools (hair & makeup) that's my biggest pet peeve is seeing cross contamination and unsanitary tools. Make sure to know if they double dip inside makeup palettes & tubes you don't want someone's bacteria on your face
