About

When I am asked this question, I am reminded of what a late colleague and great friend once said. "It's not about catching fish, it's about going fishing." No truer words spoken, as in my case. I have taken days and gone fishing, with my camera. That is I have gotten on street cars, buses, gone to parks, "touristy" areas, neighborhoods, swamps, etcetera, and snapped away the day usually yielding six or seven excellent shots. Although I haven't actually entered them in any competitions, they hang on my walls.

I have always been such a hard judge on myself, that I have a hard time convincing me that any one picture is good enough to compete. But isn't that what makes an excellent photographer? The constant drive for perfection?

I also create virtual tours for my real estate clients, and the end product has had them completely taken aback by how awesome they come out. Not to mention the exterior shots that I include with the tours. It not only takes a great eye to shoot excellent photos, but also a creative heart to know that they are special photos.

I enjoy capturing that one moment in time at an event, or a party, or a dance and freezing it as it happens. Then, everytime the client looks at it, their heart fills with the same happiness they were feeling at that moment.

    Frequently asked questions

I'd like to meet with the client face to face to make sure we know what is going to happen, and have a contingency plan, just in case.

I have no formal education or training in my craft.  I have been taking pictures since I was eleven, and some by trial-and-error.  Others I was fortunate enough to be at the perfect spot at the perfect time.  I just see things and have the natural ability to form a comprehensive, appealing photo.

My typical pricing is $150.00 per hour, and that includes set up, the shoot, editing and delivery prep.

One day, I decided that my present career has been great for me, but not something I wish to be doing in ten, fifteen or more years. In 2020, after the pandemic started, I was talking to a good friend who is a real estate agent and she had said that is was tough getting to show people houses with all the precautions in place. That's when I started my business doing virtual tours for agents. Prospective buyers could still tour the homes for sale, and never leave their current homes.

I have worked with real estate professionals, medical professionals, and individuals seeking headshots, as well as bridal parties
I asked a young lady to do portraits of her, and told her they would be shot for free as she is a reservist in the Marine Corp. When she showed the finished photos to her grandfather, also a marine vet, she said he wept. I took away a great sense of pride and accomplishment in knowing I made her look that good.
Check their experience and ask to see some of their past work. A pro who is worth their salt would be more than happy to do so.
The need, the "price-to-product" ratio, aka "Is the juice worth the squeeze?" Time constraints. To know answers to those questions should give you the best idea of who you are dealing with.
