About
Not just a guy with a pretty camera, but Certified by The Professional Photographers of America. In addition, Nizam has a "Master of Photography" Degree. He has studied "people photography": with posing and lighting techniques, he creates the difference between "just a picture" and an ELEGANT portrait. He has been selected Maryland Wedding Photographer of the Year, four times. As a recent client said: four times, that is not an accident. HE GUARANTEES YOUR SATISFACTION, or you do not pay.
THE PEOPLE
Its exciting ! I love the challenge whether working indoors or out. Sometimes, available light will be fine, sometimes need to add "fill light". If a cloudy day, then have to "create" the lighting pattern. I do whatever I have to do to get the results.
I totally enjoy my work.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Booking over the phone is great, BUT I REALLY PREFER TO MEET MY CUSTOMER ahead of time to become comfortable and ask any questions or address any concerns. It is amazing what a difference this makes, especially in the subjects expression. I have a crazy sense of humor which makes for a relaxing photo session. After all, a portrait is not a great portrait...if u do not like your expression.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified by the Professional Photographers of America.
Masters in Photography
Four time selected "Maryland Wedding Photographer of the Year"
An Accredited member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) so you can book with confidence
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Varies depending upon types of Photography
How did you get started in this business?
As a child, love to draw and paint. I attended the Maryland Institute, College of Art and accidentally found the love for Photography. To date has been selected FOUR times for the KODAK AWARD OF EXCELLENCE in Photography and SIX times for the FUJIFILM MASTERPIECE AWARD. I love what I do !!!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my past customers were wedding clients. Weddings are people...in fancy clothes. If I can work under the pressure and time constraints of a wedding, portraits are easy. Being the perfectionist that I am, I usually give my clients quality over AMOUNT OF TIME.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A birthday Party...with twins
a double wedding mother and daughter.
a 2-sister wedding, one marrying a Marine and the other a Naval Officer. The ceremony took place at the beautiful Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis ,Maryland.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
See the work first, meet with the photographer ahead of time so you are comfortable with him/her. This gives way to beautiful true expressions... the most important element in a portrait.
Of course you should consider your budget, but "do not be penny wise and pound foolish". Do not select a photographer based on price alone. Instead, look at VALUE. Look at experience, recognition in the Photographic industry, creativity in the posing and lighting etc. Look at their samples; notice if the blonde hair is blending into a light background or dark hair blending into the dark green trees. There should be a separation light so you know where the hair ends and where the trees begin. That is where experience comes in. Look for trees and other objects coming out of one's head. Look to make sure you can see everyones face in a group portrait, not hiding behind someone.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Todays camera can auto-expose almost perfectly, but THE CAMERA WILL NOT POSE YOU. Many photographers who do not know to use lighting say "oh, I like to use natural lighting".
Ask if they are comfortable using flash or reflector to fill in the dark shadows under the eyes and to give a "catch-light" in the eyes (a tiny white spot). This gives "life" to the subject.
