Ron Ames Photography
About
Fine Art Photography specializing in Nature, Close-ups, Abstract, and Photo Impressionism.
I have been a photographer in the Washington DC Metro area since 1989. Photography is a means to be able to express a creative urge. The process of creativity is what I enjoy, and what I see can be captured from a creative literal angle or transformed into a non-literal image like abstractions or impressionisms.
Color, texture, minimalism, and geometry are features that attract me.
My images are unique expressions of my personality, talent, and artistic skills. My desire is to share all of this with an audience who appreciates my work.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once the customer contacts me and shows interest in a particular genre I offer, we set up a time to meet so they can look at my imges. Prior to this meeting, I let them know that I only sell prints. Framing and matting is their responsibilty as I feel those choices are personal tastes. Then, once the image is chosen, we talk about what size they are looking for (8x10, 11x14, or 16x20) which will determine cost of print, and includes travel to get the shot, post editing, inks, and archival quality printing paper.
