About

I've been named "Best Wedding Photographer" in Michigan for 11 years running by all the top wedding websites. I bring a touch of calm, fun and expertise to all my wedding days. Oh, and you get amazingly fun, creative photos full of peak moments.

Every wedding day is as unique as each of my wedding clients and their needs are. Figuring out how to pull all the moving pieces together to create the best wedding day for my clients is like performing a high wire act in real time. I love knowing I can do my job, make their wedding day easier, more fun and still provide clients with amazingly unique wedding photos.

Making their wedding day even better than they thought possible and over performing their high expectations is mind blowingly fantastic.

People always ask about the anxiety and pressure. It's not like this for me. I've been doing this for so many years and have over 1,500 happy clients that this is my happy place. This is my playground. This is like breathing. I can make a wedding day better. Who wouldn't love to do that?!

Frequently asked questions

I work every day, so I answer all my email requests within the day. Most clients have lots of questions which I am happy to answer. I do have a ton of information on my site with has an answer to just about every question I've ever been asked at https://marcicurtis.com.

I received my bachelors from U of M a while back and spent the first 10 years of my photography career as a photojournalist working for various newspapers (those paper things people used to read) and news organizations photographing Presidents, professional sports, all kinds of tragic news and the occasional happy story too. I'm so much happier to be documenting happy wedding day stories almost every week now. My photojournalism background is put to use every single day I'm out in the field (sometimes literally) taking photos.

No, I don't, but ALL of my packages and services to include the high resolution, ready to print digital files.

I was a photojournalist for the first 10 years of my photography career. That's made me prepared for everything and everyone. I didn't photograph my first wedding until almost 8 years of full time photography experience.

I'm happy to work with any and all clients who value creative and fun photography. If you're only interested in finding a bargin photographer, I am that as well, but I'm much more interested in working with clients who pick me for my style, personality and fantastic photography.

I was photographing a family (during the time of Covid) and even though we were socially distanced and I was masked, their 4 year old daughter ran over to me to hug my knees at the end of the session. It really warmed my heart that she was happy and felt so positively towards me after a very hot, sweaty hour.

Look at their porfolios and understand their pricing. All photographers offer different packages, so find one that offers you all the things you need, but don't pay for things you don't need.

We all word things differently, so ask for clarification if you don't understand exactly what your're getting (or what's missing that you might want).

Think about what your budget realistically is and what you are looking for so you can find the best match. If you want to be able to use all the images from your session, find a photographer that gives you full printing and downloading ability so you don't have to buy them a la carte. It will be very difficult to pick and choose afterwards and might end up blowing up your budget.

Also, while there is a wide range of pricing for photography, make sure they have an established business (easy to see through their website). You will be what you pay for. There are great photographers that don't cost an arm and a leg, but there are also lots of photographers learning to be photographers, but still charge a pretty hefty fee.

Finally, google their business and look for reviews. There are lots of ways to find them, even if you don't see them here. Fash is fairly new to the photography referral business, so not all of us have reviews here, but may have a ton of them online.
