About
Gwendolyn Blue Photography focuses on capturing pure, passionate, unapologetic, photography collections that speak to the heart.
I've always found my self behind the Camera more so than in front. There's something magical that happens in the process of capturing my customers and seeing the excitement they have when they receive their finished products. Any uncomfortability in an image, it shows and that's where I thrive. By encouraging and guiding my clients it helps them to not only be themselves but it helps me provide a dynamic one of a kind service to them and a stunnig quality of work that they can relive in that moment.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically a client would begin with questions. Consultation style, We determine what look and feel they are looking for in order to provide an almost tailored style service. We then get them set up with my booking process and session/hold fee info. From there, once received. The appointment session time and date is approved and we go from there. The rest is Magic!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For starters I have 10+ years of Customer service. I believe that is one of the most important parts of the journey. Newborn Photography at Shakopee St. Francis is where I started. As well as Photographed for Lifetouch Photographing editing and creating also worked for Shutterfly as well creating and editing photo books and different projects tailored to them!
How did you get started in this business?
My love for Photography started my Sophomore year in High school. The magic like process that occurred In the dark room was actually my favorite part. Even though times have changed. Like everything else, it’s been brought up to speed. But for me... It was calming, it was creative, it was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Kind of reminds me of myself. π Then the class was over and that was it.
I found My myself behind the Camera more so than in front of it. I mean Birthdays, Family events, in the middle
Of the night trying to catch a glimpse of the blue Moon, A stormy Sky, My kids, the dog... You get it. I was in love! Some How, I never saw myself as a Professional Photographer career wise, I guess I hadn’t really thought that far. I was living life. Trying out the different paths. Until one day, I took a temporary position at the new company that came to town SHUTTERFLY! I was geeked! It Was creative, It Payed great, I could help people with my years of customer service background it was me! Until they broke my heart and Didn’t keep me. π€·π»βοΈThen one day looking online for work... I came across Mom365. Newborn Baby photographers needed!!! I had to apply! My love for Newborns, this was a plus. I Didn’t have to answer to anyone, I got to see, hold and take babies first pictures and even help in creating some of my families first cherished memories.
I did my time. Love, Love absolutely LOVED it, this was like thee dream job for me. The best... That’s what all my new Parents would say. “This has got to be the best job ever and it was because my kid having days were over lol... Next, I guess I felt something was missing... We used little to no props there was no creative side to it for me. So, I decided I’d go work for Lifetouch and do my thing on the side. Nope, couldn’t do that it was a legal thing. I couldn’t do both. So, I moved on from the Hospital and took Photos for everyone no age limited Lifetouch ... While I enjoyed this position and definitely learned More... It was not the same love or joy I had when working with the newbies and they definitely did not talk back Lol.π It was a peace all on its own, and that’s How I Knew. Maternity/Newborn & Family Photography was for me, it was My Passion, my Niche!!! I guess the saying is true if you love something let it go. If it comes back then it was meant to be!
