About

I specialize in intimate portrait photography, and do my best to capture candid moments between posed shots. The posed shots often look wonderful too, but there's something beautiful about freezing a moment, a genuine laugh, a meaningful glance, an authentic smile, and being able to hold on to that moment for life.

My vision is a world in which women everywhere celebrate their bodies as an inexhaustible source of beauty, power, and strength!

I offer a comfortable residential studio atmosphere where I empower women to celebrate their bodies in those ways by encouraging them to help direct their own sessions. The result is a unique collection of images that each woman can be proud of.

I love meeting new people and hearing stories from them while perfecting each shot. I encourage clients help direct their own photo-sittings by selecting locations, or sending me pose ideas in advance that they'd like to test out; seeing their creativity come to life as they become more comfortable in front of the camera is amazing!

The best part of photography, particularly intimate moment photography, is witnessing the shift from nerves to confidence as the sitting progresses. I love empowering my clients to see the best of themselves and their personalities shining through the images we create together.

Frequently asked questions

I always like to start by grabbing a cup of coffee somewhere so that I can get to know my clients in a stress-free/neutral environment. This allows us to create a connection so that the first time we interact is face-to-face rather than with a camera lens between us.

I always bring samples of my photos in photobooks if clients are interested in seeing those, but my goal in meeting for coffee is simply to connect and make sure that clients are comfortable with me as their photographer.

I have always enjoyed the art of photography, and in 2011 two of my closest friends asked me to shoot their engagement photos. I was hesitant at first, but when they saw the results of those, they asked me to take their wedding photos as well. That's when I really began crafting my brand and purchasing photo equipment to help aid in that process.

I have photographed all types of weddings and engagements: Jewish, Catholic, LGBT, non-religious, indoor, outdoor, you name it!

I've also done individual boudoir and bridal portraits for women of different ages, cultures, ethnicities, and sizes.

I do my best to ask as many questions as I can in advance about what clients are looking to get out of their images and what moments are "must-have" shots. It is my goal that clients feel like they are as much a part of directing the shoot as they'd like to be.

If you are not a professional model, it can be nerve-wracking to have the lens of a camera pointed at you for an hour (or a whole day in the case of weddings). Make sure that the person holding the camera is someone you feel comfortable having close-by!

If you're nervous about your photographer, the nerves will show in the photos. If you have a chance to meet your photographer in advance to make sure there is a good connection that can really help ease things! My goal as a photographer is to hand over some of the creative direction to my clients so can be part of the process rather than just the subject of my shutter-snaps. Not only does this result in images they helped to craft, but it makes being in front of the camera feel natural.

I always link my website in my introduction messages as I feels it gives clients a strong sense of my professional style as a photographer. One question clients should consider when hiring any photographer is "Am I drawn to their previous work?" As a photographer, I know that I have an artistic style that may differ from other photographers' work. I encourage clients to seek photographers who capture images that *YOU* are drawn to, as you'll be the one who will hold onto those memories for a lifetime. They should reflect your personal style too.
