Tides Of Time Photography
About
I don't like to follow "trends," preferring to individualize each session with the people I am photographing. What works for some, may not work for others.
I'm never as happy as when I have a camera in my hand! Getting to meet and interact with new "friends" makes the experience even more rewarding for me. Since I live near the coast of North Carolina, a lot of tourists come here, so I get to meet people from all over the country who have come to enjoy our beaches. Others are locals and I love establishing a relationship with them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to find out exactly what the occasion is, how many people are in the shoot, ages of any children, and if anyone has any special needs that I should be aware of. I also like to communicate before the shoot to advise on wardrobe, time of day to shoot, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began taking online courses in 2014, and continued for about 2 years. Recently I continued my education at the local community college with classes on Creative Photography.
How did you get started in this business?
Chasing an eagle down the Potomac river with a tiny little camera!!! I decided then and there I needed something with some reach and the rest is history!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with couples, small familes, large families, children, seniors, corporate, and maternity portraits.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy working with people who are happy and excited to "play" with me!! I love working with children and like to give them time to be kids, and run a little and act silly. There were two brothers in a recent photo shoot who were very fun and hard to keep still, but when I "turned them loose" they were adorable playing together.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find someone you "click" with, but also like their style. Ask to see some of their work.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What they want to portray in their portraits, their budget, and the types of images they are looking for. Do they want fun, silly photos, serious photos for business, or romantic photos?
