About
“Stormy Night Photography exists to transform genuine emotion into cinematic imagery — capturing the depth, honesty, and expression that make your story uniquely yours.”
Luis Alejandro ( L.A.) -A Life Frame in Resilence
Luis Alejandro—known professionally as L.A. and eltroco—has been capturing beauty, emotion, and story through the lens since 1978.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he began his career! photographing model portfolios and zep cards, quickly becoming a trusted creative for the Miss Venezuela organization from 1980 to 1985 . His work helped define the visual identity of an era.
Throughout the 1980s, L.A. was the go-to photographer for major Venezuelan brands in jeans, swimwear, and lingerie, producing catalogs that blended commercial appeal with cinematic flair. His Caracas studio thrived as a hub of fashion and creativity.
In 1991, a devastating robbery stripped him of all his equipment—except for the camera he had with him while vacationing in Europe. With photographic gear uninsurable in Venezuela, rebuilding was impossible. L.A. closed his studio and moved to Miami, determined to reinvent himself.
While working for a major U.S. airline, his photography career took a backseat—but his new role opened the skies. With global travel now at his fingertips, L.A. began capturing landscapes and cultural moments across continents. He transitioned into stock photography, selling evocative travel imagery that continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
Today, L.A. leads Stormy Night, a traveling photography studio based in the American Southwest. His work blends cinematic drama with natural grandeur, capturing weddings, portraits, and collaborative art projects that evoke timeless emotion. From the deserts of Arizona to the streets of Paris, L.A.’s lens remains a vessel of resilience, reinvention, and wonder.
