Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would talk to them on the phone and hear their needs. Ask them to send picture of their hair currently and pictures of what they would like to achieve. Then, I would set up an appointment for either a consultation or regular appointment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend many workshops and training workings throughout the year to keep up on current trends, i.e., haircuts, color, root melting, root shadowing, balayage, as well as makeup and airbrush. I recently took a two-day advanced airbrush makeup class in New York City.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always wanted to be a hairstylist. When I was younger, I would cut the girls hair I babysat! Lol I was also always very interested in art. I actually attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and was a graphic designer for many years. I decided to leave the stress, and pursue my childhood passion. I have to say, my art background has definitely helped with color and having that artistic eye.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
