Steven J. Pallone Photography
About
I hate having my picture taken. Which is probably why I've always been on the other side of the camera for as long as I can remember. Then there's my intrinsic passion for documenting the people (and animals as well, of course), places, and events, around me and beyond, and telling those stories through a visual collection and connection. That passion has led to over a decade of experience as a visual professional, from my start as a multimedia journalist at The Post-Standard/Syracuse.com to forging my own path as a full-time freelancer. I shoot regularly for several publications and companies in Syracuse and surrounding areas, as well as national agencies, and specialize in commercial and portrait photography. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to touch on as many details of the customer's request as possible with the initial exchange and if I feel that a face-to-face meeting would serve the situation better, will suggest that (consultation is always free of charge!). I strive to offer as much information as possible, answer any and all questions, and keep progress and cost transparent throughout the project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As is stated on my website, I've been behind some sort of camera for as long as I can remember. My passion for capturing the images and stories of the world around me started as soon as I was old enough to hold a crayon. My formal schooling started with graphic art while always keeping a hand in photo and video, and I got my professional break as a multimedia journalist for The Post-Standard when Syracuse.com was launched online in the mid 2000's. After many years there, gaining invaluable experience in a media company photo department, I struck out on my own as a full-time freelancer and here we are!
