Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is simple. I usually have a phone call, to assess the needs of any prospective client, and to get to know each other; as much as one can on a phone call. I establish their wishes, location, and duration of time needed. It's a collaborative effort. The more I know going into our shoot, the better the results line up with your vision.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education in photography, stems from a knowledge of film cameras, as well as reading, online courses, and tutorials. I am always continuing my education, and development in my craft, so I see that aspect of my life to be never ending.
How did you get started in this business?
I began shooting landscapes, and cityscape images back in 2008, and slowly started to learn about more aspects of photography. Adding weddings, events, and family shoots early on to the resumé, and finally entering the world of environmental portraiture/headshots shortly thereafter. In 2015 I started aerial photography over NYC. This has been one of the most prolific areas of my photography to date.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My customer base is wide ranging. I have worked with celebrity real estate agents, non-profit organizations, families, individuals, and large corporations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was honored to be involved in the new Statue of Liberty Museum, by association with the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation. I was involved in capturing the progress of the build through the final year of construction, as well as covering the opening gala which hosted such notable people as Diane Von Furstenburg, Jeff Beezo's, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, and Tony Bennet.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice to a customer is to keep in mind that any photographer who tells you no, they don't do that, is not the photographer for you. We are here to provide a service for you. You are the boss. We are here to realize your vision, not to subject you to ours.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Pricing, availability, time needed.
