Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the type if makeup I'll be doing I may request a consultation before the makeup application, be that a few hours in advance or a few weeks. Generally consultations are reserved for weddings, and others large events involving multiple clients. Usually just getting to know my clients wants and needs for the makeup as well as the event helps me to formulate a look for them and provide me with a good base to create a look. This will generally take place right before the makeup application.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
MAC certified makeup artist
Dior trained in skincare and makeup artistry
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing will vary depending on the kind of makeup requested, the distance I'll have to travel, the time spent and materials I'll have to use in order to achieve the desired look.
How did you get started in this business?
My friend and former hair stylist wanted me to do makeup for a wedding she was hired on for, and this being my first ever makeup gig I decided to do it and put together a kit, and I fell in love with the process and the atmosphere and the art behind it all. And I have never stopped since and it's been seven years and I'm still in love with cosmetic artistry.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Brides, bridesmaids, models, prom clients, stage performers, drag queens/ kings, cos players, photographers, videographers, fashion designers, magazines, small business, commercial work, etc
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be willing to work with our prices, we spend thousands of dollars on our makeup kits, and years of training and practice goes into our craft. Just keep in mind we have to make a living too.
Try to not compare us to another artist, we all have our own unique style and approach to artistry and we're all different in our taste and personal style.
Be realistic with you're budget and your ideas for looks. Also art takes time some looks may require more time than others.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Time frame, budget, location, type of event, number of people needing makeup, reference photos, skin concerns, focus features.
