Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We think of our clients as our family. Catering to the client is the number one priority. The consultation is the most vital part of working with a new client to make sure they get exactly what they want. We want everyone to walk out with a smile on their face feeling beautiful.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have a long history in the beauty business. Our business started with Kenneth, Tracy's father, in 1962. Tracy was certified in 1981 and Alissa, Tracy's daughter, was certified in 2006, although she has worked at the salon since 1999. Both of us have completed the Training for Tommorow program through Scruples in 2014 and we continue to complete extra education yearly through various hair shows. Continued education is a vital part of keeping up with fashion and trends to provide our customers with up to date styles.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do have standard pricing, but all of our prices are a starting price. For example, a color and haircut starts at $65.00. If the hair is so thick that we need to use extra product, the service will cost extra.
How did you get started in this business?
We started this business with Kenneth Welker in 1962. He was the original owner and the father of Tracy, and grandfather of Alissa. The skill and talent has cascaded down the family line.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We can work on pretty much anyone, however, we do not have the tools or skill set to work with African American hair.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our best memory is from February of 2019. We styled hair for the "Night to Shine" dance. It is a dance sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. It is a prom for special needs people ages 16 and up. It was the most touching experience and it felt so good to give back to the community!
