I have been fascinated by the power of hair for as long as I can remember. It's a frame, a moving piece of art, an accessory, and sometimes it is the single most identifiable aspect of our embodiment.
The joy of participating in the realization of a "look" that communicates what is deepest in you - a visual manifestation of your uniqueness - is what motivates my art and my craft.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to see my clients in their usual attire to assess their lifestyle.
Next, we have a brief 3-5 minute conversation about what they're looking for in a hairstyle and/or color.
Finally, I appreciate photos as a guide. Even if your own hair isn't like the person's in the photo, we are at least clear on the vision of where we want to go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a long history in hairdressing. As former salon owner and manager, I enjoyed many years of creating unique and wearable hairstyles for my clientele. While continuing to practice my craft off-and-on while pursuing graduate studies, I have returned to styling and enjoy applying my creative talents in the medium I love most.
I have more than one hundred hours of specialized cutting and styling training with the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, California. I have worked alongside some incredible stylists over the years as well, an influence which further expanded my skills and creativity.

What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Observe their work first, if possible. Also ask people for referrals when you see a hairstyle you like.
Once you're in the chair, be sure you get to have as long a conversation as you need to feel heard and undestood by the stylist.
