John Cassel Photography

My name is John Cassel. What makes me stand out from all the rest? Let me begin. I have been a photographer long before digital cameras existed. I started out in high school in 1969, learning how to take photos using film, no in-camera light meter or auto-focus. Seems like a hundred years ago! But, years of experience infused with my passion for photography are what got me here and helped me perfect my craft. I don't rely on the high tech stuff available today. Sure I own the stuff, but it doesn't make me a good photographer. It makes after-the-shoot more efficient and faster. No longer do I have to wait for a week to get proof's back from the photo lab. I do that myself now, on a computer. But, the technology doesn't know what good composition is, or how lighting effects a shot, or where to stand and when to press the shutter button...that's all me. Talent, love of photography and the ability to utilize technology is what enables me to produce beautiful photos and quality work. I am a perfectionist and take pride in every photo. I know how to use light, how to compose a great shot, and I have a great eye and real talent for when to press the shutter so as to get that perfect photograph.
