Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will always do a thorough consultation in the beginning asking open ended questions so the communication is clear and before I begin I always quote a price.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended beauty school and got my cosmetology license then took it a step further and received my cosmetology teacher license. I worked in a salon for 6 years as the manager and build a nice size book. Then my teaching opportunity came along and I took it. I taught beauty school for 4 and a 1/2 years at the beauty school I attended. Not only that I have spent countless hours and money on continuing education to keep my skill set up to par and as modern as possible.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I will always quote a price before beginning any service. I even go as far as to block out a 1/2 hour session for a consultation only and it is free. Pricing can always increase or decrease based off the amount of hair the client has and how much product and time is used. If any time throughout the service the price may change I will let the client know before I take any action.
How did you get started in this business?
I always had a Passion for doing my own hair color. In high school before I did hair my friends would always ask me to color and style their hair so I decided to go to beauty school to make it official. I even took it a step further and got my cosmetology teaching license and taught hair in a beauty school for 4 years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of customers, hair of all shapes and sizes, hair of all textures. Easy and difficult. The key is communication. Period.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently did a platinum blonde color project from very dark natural hair and then added 18" tape in extensions. It was a complete transformation that took 4 hours and cost just about $400 not including the price she paid for the hair.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Hire a stylist that specializes in what you are looking for. Always ask for pictures of their work or bring a end result picture you wish to have. Pictures can be the best communication between a stylist and a client. It helps the stylist know what your eye is looking for and not looking for
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The who, what, when, where, why and how. These are open ended questions your stylist will be asking you. We want you to tell us WHAT you would like done, WHAT do you want your end result to be. WHEN is a good time to do it? Maybe a certain date, time, or season. WHERE can mean many things. It can be where would you like your highlights?, where would you like your length to be? etc. WHY!!! THE MOST IMPORTANT. WHY do you want what you want when it comes to your hair. Usually it is because of certain dislikes and/or likes you have with your hair. And if course, HOW. HOW are we going to execute and what is the maintenance.
