Hello. I am Erik, the founder of Erik Christian Photography. I am a wedding and portrait photographer. I love capturing those candid moments at weddings and use a very distinct artistic/photojournalistic style. I travel near and far for weddings big and small, always bringing my unique style to your wedding or portrait session. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Normally we start with an email or text message. I normally then encourage any potential clients to setup a phone call or preferably an in person meeting. I think it’s very important to meet in person to make sure any potential clients like my personality and style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as an editorial and magazine photographer for the past 15 years. I learned quickly how to work with what the situation give me. Newspaper and magazine photographer are a mix of creative lighting and working with each individual situation.

I offer different customized packages for my clients. I am always happy to create a custom package for a range of budget needs.
How did you get started in this business?
I started as an editorial newspaper photographer and moved into magazine, portrait and wedding photography.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of clients from couples to families to corporate business clients. I am very flexible and understand the different needs of each type of client.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am very proud of my photo project The Ballet Project. The Ballet Project is an ongoing photo series of ballet poses at beautiful unexpected locations around the Hudson Valley and Catskills region of New York. I made sure to give the project enough care and lit the situation really well, using the environment to tell the story. The result was a collection of really evocative photographs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to make sure that the style and energy of the work matches your own vision of the project that you wish to pursue. Look at the photographers lighting style, and if the mood is right.
