How did you get started in this business?
It has been quite a long journey to get where I am today! I grew up in NY with a mother who was at the top of the industry and did hair for 25+ years. Being a busy working mom I spent a LOT of time in her salon watching and learning . When I first graduated highschool I didn't think I wanted to follow in my mother's footsteps and decided to Persue a career in nursing. It took a little while but I ended up realizing that my passion is in the beauty industry and I wanted to make people feel beautiful and see the joy I once saw in my moms chair . Without turning back I completed the cosmetology program with honors. I am a knowledge junkie I was to know the science behind how things work and why I became a sponge. Anyone who wanted to teach me something or explain why and how I was all ears . Fast forward a few years and there I was teaching colleagues my techniques and the whys and how's. As my clientele grew and the demand of teaching grew as well I decided it would be best for my clients and myself to go out on my own. I wanted to give my clients a overall customized experience that was my own. Being a perfectionist I wanted to dedicate time to my clients in a calm more intimate setting. In addition to that I wanted to take more advanced education classes which my current schedule would not allow. I am happy to say that owning my own business has truly been a blessing to my clients as well as myself!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I like to think I am a stylist who chair welcomes anyone! I have worked with pretty much every type of customer ranging from children to college students to NFL players wife's doctors lawyers and everything in between !
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The advice I would give a customer when you are looking to hire a beauty professional in your area is to do your research and you get what you pay for. Research the stylist does she or he give you a good feeling ? Did they put time into their response with you ? Did they answer all questions? Were they pushy ? Ask a question about their color line or about their training was the response detailed and professional?
