About

My name is Carissa and I’m a local photographer in Greenville, SC. My favorite thing about photography is getting to know people and making their stories come alive on camera. I also have good technical skills and have been editing in Photoshop and Lightroom for a number of years. Whether it’s a birthday, a business, or a wedding, I will be happy to work with you and help your vision come to life. I work 90% with natural/available light. This requires wide open spaces or big windows if we are going to shoot indoors. I will need advanced notice to acquire lighting equipment for dark settings. Please add that in your quote if you’re interested. Thank you for the heads up!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I currently charge extra to travel longer distances although that won’t always be the case. I work heavily in the downtown Greenville area.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will always ask you about your vision and your interests and see how I can make that come to life in your session. If I can meet you for coffee to visualize goals and create a plan before a large session or event, like an engagement or a wedding, I prefer to do that.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started doing photography as a backstage employee at one of the local theatres in Greenville. I learned on the go and enjoyed the job because it was watching art being created, moment by moment. That is still one of the main reasons I love photography: creating a visual, and personal story that can be treasured for many years to come. Eventually, I chose to buy my own camera and start my own business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I am well versed in backstage photography, wedding and engagement photography, maternity photography, headshot photography and candid photography and enjoy all kinds of these different versions of portraits. I think on my feet and enjoy adventure that comes with new scenarios and learning new things.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently did headshots for a client at Skytop Apple Orchard and she asked to be inspired by the evil queen from Snow White. I loved that she took some inspiration and we just ran with it! It took us about an hour and a half to get a good set of photographs that we were both very satisfied with afterwards.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always find someone who listens to your ideas

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Don’t ignore your budget and try to find someone who can work with it. Find a photographer who matches the style you are interested in and connects to your plan
