Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We come to a concise agreement on exactly what the customer wants, in order to make sure I can give it to them. We agree on a price, then a date, time, and location.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied photography with Terry Roueche, a long-time photographer who runs his own studio, Roueche Studios, in Rock Hill, SC. As a filmmaker, I studied with Tony Elwood and Paul Barrett of Synthetic Fur, in Charlotte, NC, and studied editing with Cameron Pierce, a Director of Photography and Editor in Los Angeles, CA.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing begins at $150/hour for photography and videography sessions, and $75/hour for editing.
How did you get started in this business?
I started off as an independent contractor for various people and groups, before deciding to go into business for myself in 2012.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Actors, actresses, models, authors, dancers, dance companies, universities, brides & grooms, high school graduates, real estate agents.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A real estate agent from Lancaster, SC, asked me to make a short commercial for a property she was listing, which looked very much like the house from the film "The Notebook." My team and I shot a romantic commercial for her, showing off the property and all it had to offer.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Have a clear and specific idea of what you want, and make sure you communicate that with your photographer, to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
"What, exactly, am I looking for?" There are a lot of different styles of photography, and a lot of photographers who specialize in different areas, so it is important to make sure you are hiring the person who will give you what you want.
