Like to understand what the photos are really for and the meaning they will have. This helps me suggest locations, wardrobe, and my process to the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The school of hard knocks. Started with wildlife photos in the 1970s which taught the importance that each shot counts as there are few second shots.
