Corsets and Lace provides discerning women and couples top-tier intimate photography services. My clients are most interested in scheduling a boudoir session, however we are happy to design a custom session to match your individual comfort level and vision.
The thing I love about boudoir and intimate photography is that it helps people see their own beauty in ways you just don't get by looking in a mirror. What made me want to focus on this genre is having clients that tell me things like "I've never been more attracted to myself in my life!" and the uncontrollable smile on their face when they see their favorite image turned into a piece of wall art. Said simply, I'm here for the happiness.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Due to the nature of boudoir and intimate photogaphy I prefer to have a quick call with all new or prospective clients so we can get to know each other, I can answer any questions they may have and they can share any special requests or ideas that they would like to incorporate into the session. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of my education comes from "doing". Yes, I've watched a number of training videos, I've kept an eye on the portfolios of photographers I admire, I participate in photography groups on Facebook, but really, I'm a hands-on learner.
Over the past few years I've attended a number of skills-building workshops, I've hired both amatuer and professional models for the purposes of testing new techniques and honing my posing and communication skills, and I'm able to leverage my past association with the theatre in areas of set design, wardrobe selection and lighting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My standard session fee is $399 which covers everything EXCEPT for products. I do recommend that clients budget between $800 and $2,500 depending the size, type and quantity of products that they may be interested in purchasing.
How did you get started in this business?
I started with photography when I moved to the Richmond, VA area in early 2016. I considered myself an amatuer professional until I was laid off from my day job in 2019 when I officially formed my business and started advertising my services.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I always find it hard to describe my "typical" client because each one is unique and has had their own unique reasons for hiring me. What I can say is that my clients tend to be open minded, that they want to do a session for themselves (even though spouses and significant others often enjoy the results too), and that they aren't afraid to embrace their sexuality.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Taco Tuesday! It's not always tacos, sometimes I go with enchiladas or burritos, but I never miss a Tuesday. I wish I had something more profound or exciting, but Taco Tuesday is the best!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The best advice I would give is to not make your choice of photographer based on price alone. Focus on the quality of the work and how well you'll get along with the photographer. Boudoir and intimate photography sessions can be intimidating if you've never done them before, and being comfortable with who you're working with and having confidence that they will guide you through creating some amazing images is key if you want to have as much fun as possible during your session.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Here are some of the key questions a prospective client should try to answer before reaching out to a photographer:
Why do I want to do a boudoir or intimate photography photo session?
What do I want to do with the images from the session? (give an album as a gift, hang a large canvas on your bedroom the wall, share some digital images on social media, etc.)
Do I love the photographers work?
What kind of budget (paid in full or on a payment plan) do I realistically have?
Is there anything specific (color, wardrobe, etc.) that I want to incorporate into the session.
